Brief History of Gladstone Commercial

Established in February 1979 by Engr. Eliseo C. Estrella, Gladstone Commercial was initially engaged in the supply of Steel Pipes and Fittings as well as the appurtenances for water, oil and gas pipelines. After achieving a sizeable share of the market, coupled with the company’s desire to maintain the quality of its product, Gladstone Commercial started the fabrication and manufacture of various sizes of fittings from its own plant. This resulted in significant saving to its customers who were dependent on foreign suppliers.

Seizing the opportunities presented by the telecommunication boom in the mid eighties, the company extended its line of business to the fabrication of Steel Trusses, and the fabrication and erection of Telecommunication Towers. Gladstone Commercial caught the eye of many business leaders because of its vision, innovation and its direct no-nonsense approach to satisfying market needs.

The late eighties brought forth new sets of problem for the local economy i.e. the dwindling supply of potable water and local demand for safe, reliable water source. The company once again responded by the addition of the manufacture and installation of Elevated Water Tanks and Ground Steel Reservoirs in its product line.

In 1990, Gladstone Commercial was awarded the manufacturing rights and distributorship of Aids to Navigation by Ryokusei Corporation, a company based in Japan. As the pioneer and premier manufacturer of steel buoys in the Philippines, Gladstone Commercial gained international notoriety with contracts awarded by both government and non-government entities all over the Philippines and Southeast Asia.

Gladstone Commercial is accredited by the Philippine Coast Guards (PCG), Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), Manila Water Company Inc. (MWSI), Maynilad Water Services Inc. (MWSI) and Local Water Utility Administration (LWUA).

Gladstone Commercial is a licensed distributor for Mayer Steel Corporation, Ryokusei Corporation and Sealite Pty. Ltd.
